A 54 King Street, Stockport, Sk3 0DT
The large bright neon lights of the restaurant brightly lit up the smog ridden sky of Stockport town centre as we approached the Last Monsoon. The restaurant is located on King Street (next to Stockport Fire Station) and offered ample parking facilities.
This was Chris MS's first attempt at organising a "Curry Council" monthly event. Expectations were running high as CMS has heard good reports about the dining experience at the Last Monsoon.
The notable absentees from the evenings curry were Woodman and Dayo. The latter facing the wrath of the Council for rearranging the curry from the originally planned Wednesday to the Monday and yet still failing to attend after inconveniencing the group.
'Loaf a Bread Head' Hague, currently serving a 3 match curry ban, attended the curry despite the protests of the group. The "hole digging" mole Jordan may face disciplinary action for this breach.

We could have quite easily have been in the City Of Manchester Stadium. There were a mass of empty seats as far as the eye could see but at least the seats were cushioned here at the Monsoon ! Was this a bad sign of the things to come?
The menu was large and varied, offering a mix of Bangladeshi, Indian and Nepalese cuisine.
The waiter stated that no draught Indian lagers were available on the menu. This was very disappointing. The group opted for a mixture of ordinary draught lagers and large bottles of cobra beer.

The Special Tandoori Platter (a shared mixed starter, priced at £4.50) was delivered by the waiter. The starter included lamb chops, sheek kebab, chicken tikka, lamb tikka and garlic chicken. The starters were average and arrived slightly luke warm and a little sparse (there was only 1 piece of each tikka each).
A variety of main courses were sampled and again were of an average standard, as was the rice and naan.
The meal (including pops, starter, main course, 2 beers, rice & naan) was priced at around £23 per person (including a 10% tip). It was felt that this meal was a little bit pricey for a lower end curry house close to Stockport town centre (next to a bus station!).
Overall, this is an average curry house that may satisfy the less fussy curry eater.
Service 6/10
Atmosphere 4/10
Value for money 5/10
Originality 6/10
Overall 5.2/10
