Visit arranged by: Gaz Jordan

The pleasant smell of ruby-murry wafted through the air in Parrs Wood upon approach to the Khandoker car park (which was large and well lit).

Upon arrival we were assigned some seats next to the fire exit and hidden far away in the corner of the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy but the decor appeared dated and in need of a touch up.

The evening looked promising as the lads joked about Steven 'Scissor Hands' Woodman impending snip and stories of Paul Day fighting with a two and a half foot wheelie bin and the resulting black eye (should we call the RSPCC ?) .

After a long wait for our drinks order and the arrival of our poddodoms, things were finally looking up. A very small shared portion of mango chutney and condiments then arrived, with the majority of the lads having almost dry poppodums due to the minimal portion size (apart from Stephen S'h'ellfish Winfield, who had his poppodum heaped with more onions than a french cyclist).

The group all opted for a shared starter for two, the Mixed Special, which consisted of two pieces of chicken tikka, two onion bhajis, two pieces of lamb tikka and two shish kebabs.

The main courses were of a good standard (Chicken Madras costing a very reasonable £5.45) but they all lost their spice due to the slow service.

The food overall was of an acceptable standard, although the service was very poor. This could be due in part to the popularity of the restaurant on this particular evening but we feel that service overall could be improved.

The Khandoker also offers a takeaway service. The restaurant also provides private catering for parties and celebrations.

Food 6/10
Service 3/10
Atmosphere 5/10
Value For Money 5/10
Originality 6/10

Overall 5/10
