Mango Lounge - Stockport

T 0161 477 9989
A 106 Higher Hillgate, Stockport, Cheshire, SK1 3QH

Visit arranged by: Andrew Hague
Review by: Martin Noble

The group entered the Mango Lounge with high expectations. The restaurant is on the site of a former lap dancing bar and this immediately had the Council dreaming of scantily clad waitresses serving them ice cold pints of Cobra and asking them for a nibble of their poppodums. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

The venue itself was quite basic with a modern decor. Metallic night club style stools line the bar area. The cold aesthetics did not add to the dining experience.

However, the Mango Lounge had a large window into the kitchen and it was quite easy to see the chefs preparing our food.

The restaurant was completely empty throughout the visit, which was not particularly a good sign on a Wednesday evening.

Average looking poppodums were served with a poor selection of condiments. The mixed starters arrived luke warm and were of average quality and quantity.

The main courses offered were all of similar texture and were very bland in taste.

The service was good but this is not the place for the curry eating connessuer or anyone who appreciates authentic Indian food.

Food 4/10
Service 6/10
Atmosphere 2/10
Value for money 5/10
Originality 4/10

Overall 4.2/10
