I thought that it would be a nice change to stray away from our usual North West Indian Restaurant reviews and dabble with reviewing some “ruby murry” at the airport “darn sarf”.There were two different curries on offer at the hot buffet section and I had the choice of a chicken Jalfrezi and Goan Vegetable curry. I’m normally a committed carnivore when it comes to my curry eating but on this occasion felt that I also had to sample the vegetarian option.

The Jalfrezi was surprisingly very tasty and was a world apart from the supermarket style curry that I was expecting to eat. The dish was packed with diced chicken, mixed peppers, onions and came with a light kick from the chilli and various other spices. All that was missing was a nice side serving of naan bread but overall this was a more than satisfactory dish and got the CurryCouncil thumbs up from me.
I then had a smaller portion of the Goan Vegetable curry purely just for research purposes. I also swapped my plate for a bowl in a disguised effort not to appear as greedy as I actually am.

I washed the curry down with a couple of drinks and also embarrassingly took a couple of photos of my dishes for our readers. I gathered my thoughts and noticed that the curries seemed to be the most popular dish in the lounge and that a steady queue of other frequent fliers were regularly returning for second helpings.
If you ever get chance to pass through the BA lounge at T5 in Heathrow, I would certainly recommend sampling their curry dishes with a nice spot of fluffy rice.
