There seems to be a lot of spicy goings on in the Stockport / Greater Manchester / Cheshire curry scene at the moment, with a handful of new restaurants opening this spring. There are also many more restaurants (possibly) changing owners and having more makeovers than Gok Wan.
The "Fusion Lounge" in Denton is set to open on April 27th. Fusion Lounge selected GAP PR to handle their promotion and appear to be very active on their social media activities pre-launch.
Sitar (formerly Café AM Ma) in Wilmslow closed in April. The restaurant has re-opened under the successful "Swadesh" name, which already have restaurants in Bowden, Didsbury and Manchester City Centre. It is also interesting to note from the Swadesh website that these restaurants are also partnered with the Sangam chain.
Spice World (formerly Delish Spice) in Bramhall has now transformed into "Amans", which also has an identically named sister restaurant in Lowton, near Wigan.
"Appayon" opened in Poynton in March. The restaurant is located on the former Deeba site and has had an extensive interior and exterior facelift.
The "Viceroy" of Bollington recently have opened a new second restaurant in Handforth.
The Red Rose in Hazel Grove recently joined the ever expanding list of restaurants offering a multi-coloured “bubble wall” for their diners to gaze at whilst eating their curry. This former CurryCouncil award winner has also put our logo on their menu, which is a nice touch.
There is only a certain amount of curry that your favourite curry connoisseurs can possibly consume. Please be patient, we will try and work our way through the above list and keep you updated on our thoughts! We wish all of these new ventures the best of luck!
We have now amassed an amazing 710 followers on our CurryCouncil Twitter account, which dwarfs our feeble 15 followers on facebook! #Talkabouthavingallyoureggsinonebasket#
We also sampled a few fantastic snacks from the Dormen food group. These spicy nibbles come in a variety of different varieties including Bombay mix, korma flavour crisps and peanuts, spicy nut satay mix and spicy sesame peanuts. They taste delicious and are a must have snack for any spice lover!
