came here for valentines. the place looked amazing and romantic(tinted windows were perfect)we were greeted by ash, who was so nice to us.the place is very unique and it was so lovely to sit in a place that was different to other restaurants. they have a VIP area which looks smashing,great for parties.the toilets are spotless and theres a water feature wall(omg) so so so nice to sit next to.the food was delicious, we didnt mind paying a reasonable price for such quality food, i mean if u wanted cheap spiced food then yea go to sainburys and eat in front of the telly(boring). this was different food, a variety of dishes for everyone to enjoy. A great team of talented chefs and waiters. again ash you were great along with service( i mean we waited 30mins but it was worth it 110%) and we deffo will come back.KEEP IT UP!GREAT PLACE!

I haver been visting the purple pakora for just under 2years now, and i have to say the 1st time i walked into 'THE PAKORA' as i call it now i have never been made to feel so welcome, now 48 visits later and every dish possible to taste, i feel apart of the purple pakora family. Sid i want to say a special thank you to for my daughters birthday and Josh & Baba my grandson julian still going on about the Xmas 09 dinner and that funny santa. BEST CURRY IN THE NORTH!!!!!!

We had a meal about three weeks at the poynton branch. When i got there with my friends we were greeted by a memember of staff who took us to out table.The food was excellent and I was total blown away by the service by the end of the evening, top lads especially Ash and Babs who looked after us. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone as its one of the best in South Manchester. These people who have put down these comments that this place is rubbish need to go out more coz they sound like there from the 70's who dont know what there on about. Thanks Ash for a fantasic nite out. C u and the boys soon and i will be tellin my work collegues all bout you lot. Daniel Scudder

We had a meal at the Disley Branch, due to inability to find parking space at their Poynton restaurant.Food and service were excellent, the "Suicide" curry was tasty but not particularly spicy. We thought the "Helicopter Nan" would be better named the "Windsurfer Nan" it was delicious never the less.
Has any one (that is old enough to speak) dared eat the Chocolate or Caramel Korma??????????????
We will definatley go again. Lots of parking at Disley for us women!!!

We went to the Purple Pakora Dec 2009 - we were a party of 7 (one of whom has a small appetite due to a medical condition).We wanted to order the banquet meal for 6 at 14.50 per head and 2 extra starters and were told by the 'manager' - Ash Chaudhry - that 'he'd let us get away with it this time'! We hadn't noticed anything on the menu or at the entrance to say it was obligatory for every diner to order more than they can eat! When we questioned this, we were told that he wouldn't even serve us next time! sorry Mr Chaudhry, we've been Poytnon residents for over 20 years and have enjoyed many many meals in the local retaurants, but we'll be giving yours a miss in future - a night out to us is about the food, the ambience and a pleasant and respectful service - the latter was distinctly lacking at The Purple Pakora and we don't need to be made to feel that it was an honour for us to be 'allowed' to dine there. No more recommendations from us I'm afraid!
